Plans are in place to hold our 1st Reunion this year commemorating the 50th Anniversary MinRon 11 Det Alfa / Mine Division 112 began mine sweeping operations in Vietnam.

The Sheraton Gunter Hotel is an elegant property in the heart of Downtown San Antonio and just across the street from the world famous River Walk. The historic newly-refreshed hotel is a great location for our first reunion. In October, with it’s mild temperatures and warm charm you may find yourself wanting to extend your stay.

Rooms and Rates:

Room Rate: $119.00 + 19.93 tax = $138.93 per night total.
Use rate code: “MinRon11 Det Alfa or Mine Division 112” to get the special rate. The MinRon11/MinDiv112 rate is valid for stays up to three days pre/post reunion dates. Your choice of one king size bed or two queen size beds.

Rate includes:

  • Free breakfast buffet each morning
  • Free high-speed Wi-Fi Internet
  • ADA rooms are available
  • Discounted parking ($12.00)

You may cancel your reservation with no charge up to 24 hours before check in. Within 24 hours, you will be charged one full day. Deadline to make your hotel reservation at the reunion “discounted rate” is September 13, 2016.

After you make hotel reservations, please email Ray Skaines (ray@minedivision112.com) with names of your banquet attendees.

Transportation rates to and from the airport and hotel:

  • Go Airport Shuttle: $19.00 per person to downtown hotel or $34.00 for round trip ticket.
  • Taxi: $24 – $28 total fare for up to 4 persons from airport to downtown hotel.
  • Uber: (recommended) $12 – $16 total per fare for up to 4 persons from airport to downtown hotel.

Thursday, October 13

  • Check in begins at 3:00 pm
  • Registration begins at 3:00 pm in MinRon11 / Mine Division 112 hospitality suite (Frontier Room – 3rd Floor)
  • Gather as you wish in the hospitality suite. Free beverages (water, soft drinks, beer, wine), snacks
  • Dinner and evening entertainment will be at your own discretion.

Friday, October 14

  • 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • Hospitality suite open all day
  • Come and go as you please

Saturday, October 15

  • A Business Meeting will be held at 9:30 am in the hospitality suite.
  • Discussion and suggestions will be for future reunions (if yes, where and when)
  • Discuss financial statement
  • Membership Dues (if future reunions will take place)
  • After the meeting, free time. Hospitality suite open all day.
  • 6:30 pm Dinner Banquet ($39.00 per person)
  • Dress casual
  • Please let us know in advance about special dietary considerations

Sunday, October 16

  • Goodbyes
  • Hospitality room will close at noon

Silent Auction

During our reunion we will hold a silent auction. The auction will be very important to our reunion. It will help to defray costs to pay for our reunion and future reunions. All proceeds will to go MinRon11 Det Alfa / Mine Division 112 account to help with future reunion expenses. Please bring any Navy memorabilia (ex: caps, t-shirts, plaques, books), anything handmade, or anything representing your state. Any and all items would be appreciated.

Mine Division 113 will be holding their reunion at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel during the same time. I would like to thank our fellow Vietnam Veterans at Mine Division 113, who may not know it, helped lay out the ground work for our first reunion. I personally attended the Mine Division 113 reunion in 2015. With their help and suggestions I basically duplicated their process to make our reunion happen. I hope you will join me and thank them personally when we visit them at the hotel.
